Level 1

The Interface settings for the GWVICAP process are very limited. They define whether or not web traffic will be scanned on

Inbound and Outbound connections, the IP address that the process will use, and the maximum number of threads.

Level 2

Scan inbound web traffic - This option determines if inbound web traffic will be scanned. This means requests that end users are making, ie web browsing, downloading of files from the internet, etc, will be scanned.

Scan outbound traffic - This option determines if files that users are uploading to the Internet will be scanned.
TCP/IP bind address (listen address) - The IP address that GWVICAP will use for networking.
Maximum number of threads - The number of threads the GWVICAP process will use for listening for requests from the ICAP server.

Hand On

Create a URL filter for *gwava.com* and set the option to Block the site. Wait 60 seconds to allow the system to reload the configuration. After the minute, try and browse to www.gwava.com. That site should be blocked.

Now go to the GWVICAP Interface settings and uncheck the Scan outbound traffic check box. Wait 60 seconds to allow the system to reload its configuration.

Once the configuration has updated, browse to www.gwava.com. The web page should now come up.
