O365 Setup

Set up a Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2008 R2 server.

1. Add the .NET Framework 3.51 [1] feature to the server
2. Install the Azure AD module [2]
   1. Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant for IT Professionals RTW [3] (msoidcli_64.msi)
   2. Azure Active Directory Module for Windows PowerShell (64-bit version) [4] (AdministrationConfig-en.msi)
3. Install database if needed.
   • MySQL 5.5 Community edition [5]
   1. Install
      1. Detailed Configuration
      2. Developer Machine
      3. Transactional DB only
      4. DB location
      5. Concurrent connections/Manual Settings (20)
      6. Enable TCP/IP Networking (port 3306) & Enable Strict Mode
      7. Best Support for Multilingualism (UTF8)
      8. Install as a Service
      9. Create root credentials
      10. Install
   2. Setup Retain database
      1. Login to Start/MySQL/MySQL Server 5.0/MySQL Command Line Client
      2. CREATE DATABASE retain DEFAULT CHARACTER SET 'utf8' DEFAULT COLLATE 'utf8_bin';
      3. GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON retain.* TO 'retaindbuser'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
      4. GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON retain.* TO 'retaindbuser'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
      5. exit CLI
4. Install Java 1.6 JDK [6]
5. Add the IIS role to the server.
   1. In Select Role Services check ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI Filters found under the Application Development category. Leave everything else as default.
6. Check the JAVA_HOME switch for your system. This is set in the Environment Variables.
   1. Environment Variables are accessed through: Start | Control panel | System.
   2. Select the Advanced tab and then select the ‘Environment Variables’ button near the bottom. JAVA_HOME should be listed in your System variables table. Point to your Java 1.6 installation directory. If it is incorrect, correct the information.
   3. If it is missing, select ‘New’ and add the path. Syntax as follows:
   • Variable Name JAVA_HOME
   • Variable Value <Path to java installation directory> ie. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_26
7. Shutdown Tomcat in services
8. Run RetainInstall.exe (install Tomcat during process)
9. Install Retain
10. Setup Retain for O365
