GroupWise POA Scheduled Scan Job

Messages that have already been delivered to the end users can be scanned by GWAVA. This allows for viruses to be removed that were delivered by a different method to the end user. A GWAVA POA mail agent is a program that scans mail stored in a GroupWise Post Office on a scheduled basis and hands the messages on to a GWAVA scanner engine service for inspection. Once each message has been scanned the POA mail agent is then responsible for deleting, altering, or leaving the message unchanged in the message store.

To ensure a smooth installation of this agent, some information about your GroupWise system needs to be supplied. You may also undertake some of these steps manually after the GWAVA network has been configured if you wish to maintain control of the process yourself.

Prerequisites:

You must have generated a Trusted Application Key using the GWAVA TRUSTKEY Win32 application.
To generate the Trusted Application Key you must be logged into the Novell Client with full rights to the domain directory, and you must have a mapped drive to the server domain directory from your Windows workstation (Linux use a SMB or NCP share).
The Post Office Agent must be running GroupWise 6.5.0 or later.
The Post Office Agent must have IMAP enabled at the Post Office Agent level (not the GWIA). Make sure any GWIA running on the same machine does not have IMAP services conflicting with this.
It is recommended for performance that you configure jobs to scan only Post Office Agents local to the GWAVA server.
