From GWAVA Technologies Training
How to restore a user that was deleted from GroupWise 2014.
There are addition instructions if the user was recreated in GroupWise.
In the Reload Web Console:
- Go to the domain profile and download the wpdomain.db from the backup that still contains the user.
- Copy that file to the GroupWise server, it works much faster when it is local.
- Go to GroupWise Web Administration
- Select the domain that the user was originally in
- Go to System/Recover Deleted Account
- Browse to the file
- Select the user
- Click recover
- Go to Users and make sure that user recovered to the system.
- Login as the user using GroupWise Client (there will be no mail, which is a separate step)
Restore User's Email
Prerequisite:
- A Restore Area must be defined
- Have the User's Password
Resolution:
- In the Reload Web Console enable access to a backup that the user is known to be in.
- Log into the GroupWise client as the user and go to File/Open Backup.
- Go someplace deep in the user's folder structure, select an item, right-click on it and select Restore.
- Do this for three items from separate folders.
- Return to the online mode and make sure that the items and folder structure restored correctly.
- If restored correctly, go to the GroupWise Admin Console
- Select the user
- Select More dropdown
- Click on Restore
- GroupWise will restore all items from the restore area to the live system. This will take some time depending on network bandwidth and disk IO, but items will be restored starting immediately. You can watch the progress in the POA log.
