In those films the sacrifice almost all of their upfront pay for a portion of the profits. That makes the big name actor an investor in the project and potentially returns him even more money. A perfect example is Channing Tatum. He not only waived his fee for Magic Mike but he also invested his own money. The film had a tiny budget and was a huge hit. As a result he earned about $40 million. I think thatâs a model with serious appeal.
