ADM trades corn, soybeans, and other crops and processes them into products such as fuel and food additives. With annual revenue of about US$90 billion and some 30,000 employees, ADM is one of the world's biggest grain companies. But its business has been more concentrated in the U.S. than that of some rivals. The GrainCorp acquisition was designed to enhance ADM's ability to capitalize on surging demand for grain in China and other emerging markets.
