She gets as much as 17 miles free on a charge. My 2001 Jeep travels that on only one gallon of gasoline, but I can go places she can't. On gasoline, she gets an average of 51 MPG so far. What the article doesn't mention is that it has two electric motors. One is a generator while the other is a drive motor. This is why it gets 115 MPGe EPA which is over anything in its class. The biggest problem I have is the salesmen; they don't know enough to sell this car. Think about it: we get 4 miles on a Kilowatt of electrical energy, that’s less than 3 cents a mile on electricity (if you’re connected to the GRID). All you have to do to get that rate (11 cents/KWH) is call your service provider.  |
