</a>  In the chronology and collective memory of our nation, there are events that will never be forgotten by the witnesses and the successive generations. These events become woven into our national story and family lore, passed onto children and grandchildren: the assassination of President Lincoln in April 1865, Armistice Day in November 1918, the Stock Market Crash in October 1929, the German invasion of Poland in September 1939, the Normandy Invasion on June 6, 1944, the death of FDR in April 1945, V-E Day in May of that year and VJ Day in September, the murder of the Rev.
